Ernesto Strikes Out; Next Year On Deck
The Hurricane Season of 2006—in the U.S., that is—was a dud. That is, if you like hurricanes, evacuations, insurance claims ...
The latest
from both government agency
and academic research
sources suggests that 2006 was a no-hurricane year thanks to El Niño. The change in oceans directly affects hurricanes, which are brewed in the air over the oceans. Naturally, next year promises to be a doozy.
The news report added: "No hurricanes hit the U.S. Atlantic coast in 2006—only the 11th time that has occurred since 1945."
Lull before the storm?

Ms. Curious --
Thanks for your curiosity.
This blog is "Guided By History" and I am a historian. The focus of the blog is to look at things from a historical point of view.
December 7 is a big day in history -- 20th century history, at least. I just thought I'd take a look at what it means today and I offered some thoughts on it.
Feel free to offer your own thoughts as "Comments" as you read the entries. We're happy to have you here!
