Picture this!

My Wells Fargo® Credit Card doesn't look like any other credit card in the world!

Want to know why? I used the newest Wells Fargo feature called the Wells Fargo Card Design StudioSM service to put a picture of my daughter on my credit card. Now, every time I take out my card to use it, it's an excuse to show the world my personalized card and brag about my daughter a little bit. I liked it so much I added a picture to my Wells Fargo Check Card as well.

What mom wouldn't want to show off this adorable picture? If you haven't checked it out, you should. Why shouldn't your Wells Fargo card be as unique as you? You can show your school spirit by adding a photo of you and your friends decked out for the big game. Or use the feature to remind yourself of something you miss from back home.

It's easy to upload a photo of you, your pet or your favorite sport — pretty much anything that interests you, but doesn't go against image guidelines. There's also an image library you can choose from if you don't have a personal image handy.

Best of all, it's a free service!

If you already have a Wells Fargo Credit Card or Check Card, sign on to Wells Fargo Online® Banking, click on the Account Services tab and select the "Access Card Design Studio" link to customize your card. If you don't already have a card, you can explore your options at wellsfargo.com. I tried using a Wikimedia creative commons (free-use!) image with this service, and it got rejected. What a waste of time.

Hi Mike B,

I'm sorry to hear your experience using the Card Design Studio service was not a smooth one. Without knowing exactly what the image was, it's hard to determine why it was declined. If the image looked like stock photography, we don't know if it's been purchased for common use or if it's restricted, so to prevent litigation we err on the side of our image guidelines. Image guidelines can be found at: www.wellsfargo.com/help/faqs/carddesignstudio#Q7

Thank you,
Karen

I have tried 4 different times to use a painting my wife made and it has been rejected each time. I do not know how they determine what is trademarked and not but it is less user friendly I do not know how I can ever get across that this painting is in fact not trademarked or owned by anyone other than my family, but it was mildly disappointing that the only thing I can put on my card are things I find less than enjoyable.

Dear RT,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience trying to add a picture of your wife's painting to your card.

I'd like to talk more about your experience and see if there's anything we can do to help.

Please contact me through the Ask the Expert link.

Thank you,
Karen

I am unable to start the design process using the design studio service.

After logging into my account and going into the design studio I am automatically logged out in about 5 seconds.
I get this message:

"For security reasons, your session is no longer active.
For your protection, your session expires after several minutes of inactivity, and no information is stored in your computer's memory.
If you were viewing your account information, please sign on again.
If you were filling out an application, please begin your application again."

Very annoying. I would love to customize my cards, any advice?

This "feature" is extremely irritating. I'm a professional graphic designer and photographer, and Wells Fargo keeps rejecting everything I submit to put on my card! It's all MY work. I own the copyrights to everything I've submitted!

It's not fair for Wells Fargo to only approve amateur, low-quality photos because they assume that anything that's high-quality is stolen from somewhere.

GRR.

I had the same problem too Juno. I clicked on the Select a Design "clickable" and in a matter of 3 seconds I was automatically logged out.

Yeah Juno, it's really annoying.

Xavi, we don't want your experience with the Card Design Studio Service to be annoying! Please contact us directly at 800-956-4442 so that our technical team can help troubleshoot the issue. Thanks!

How many days after I activate my card do I have to wait until i can customize it. The wait is killing me! I have the perfect picture chosen.

Dear Catalina,

Please allow 30 days after you receive your new card before customizing it with a personal picture. If you are planning to use an image that contains original artwork, please send the image through the Ask the Expert link so we can determine if the image would meet card customization guidelines.

Thank you,
Karen

I had a smooth experience with this feature in the end, however, I did have to resize my picture several times. My check card's design gets so many compliments, I never use cash so I use it for everything :-P
I seldom use my credit card, but I love how it turned out too.

having a lot of those problems as well, i cant use any of my personal pictures, not vulgar or obscene it just keeps saying the size is too big when it is clearly within the guidelines on the upload page. anyone else know how to fix this? i tried resizing via online websites and still no luck. any info appreciated.

Dear John M,

I completely understand your frustration and I think I can help. Open your image using the software on your computer, mine happens to open automatically in Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Locate the resize image tool and select a dimension for your picture of at least 840 x 840. Usually I have to resize my image to about 180% (1040x842) before it is the right size to upload. The image might seem huge but it works when well you get to the point of uploading it to the Card Design Studio.

Please let us know if this works.

Thank you,
Karen
