Where did June go? As we approach the halfway point of your summer break (or internship or summer classes), it's a good time to check in with you on how you've been spending this summer — or maybe I should say how much you've been spending this summer.

I don't know about you, but my money seems to flow a little more freely as the weather gets warmer. Outdoor concerts, dining alfresco, the season of the garage sale...yes, the warm weather can indeed be a catalyst to my spending. So I have to be very careful not to overspend during summer.

Have you taken a look at your spending this summer? As you do, think about places where there could be a lower cost or even a no cost alternative to your spending. For example I can simply amend my list to FREE outdoor concerts, dining alfresco in my own backyard, and, well, garage sales is a little tougher, but I certainly can choose to stick to a set a budget when I trek out on Saturday mornings.

Do any of you have tips on keeping your spending under control this summer? Share them here!
