Whelp, it's time for my annual birthday post. And it's a big one because ... wait for it ... it's my golden birthday (the year my birth date is the same as my age). If you're preparing yourself for a post full of "gold" catchphrases, you know me (and my cheesy writing) well. But I'm just going to stick with just one: solid gold
.
I'm so glad to be celebrating my golden birthday later in my life. Man, you folks born on the 1st really got the short end of the stick! But at twenty-eight, I feel pretty established and able to celebrate a solid golden birthday.
After years of living paycheck to paycheck, trying to stick to my budget, get a good chunk into savings, and temper my spending, my pocketbook is feeling pretty stable. All that fretting over my finances has paid off. Solid.
Almost six years into the working world I feel like an established young professional with a distinct point of view about what I do. I continue to love the world of marketing and particularly communicating with customers via social media. (Clearly!) Solid.
My nights are spent in the comfort of a lovely home that I've made my own slowly over five years. I've got a fantastic roof over my head and the means to fill it with fabulous things and keep it warm. Solid.
Finally, I've reached a place where I feel comfortable in pretty much every arena of life. Yes, there is still room to grow and develop personally and professionally, but for right now it is solid gold
.
Welcome, twenty-eight!
