I am thankful for Archives

It's Thanksgiving, and the Archives have some things to share that give us a lot to consider....

Are we saturated with sports in modern times? Has the meaning of the holiday been eclipsed by the power of games on TV? Why, yes it has — but as you see, that isn't so new. Sic semper spectaculi.

The Archives speak!

You know, there's working on holidays, and then there's workin' on Holidays! These guys are opening a railroad — pretty macho.

Do you think they served turkey in the dining car?

I venture to say right now that good shoes are the boundary between civilization and savagery. But that's just me.

That plug prevents slipping (Click for larger image in a new window)Whatever your outlook, there are few things in life to be more thankful for than a stout pair of shoes. And good soles make all the difference.

Finally, as you sit down to your feast, don't forget the family's best friend. (And by the looks of him, I'd say it's self defense to mind his happiness.)
