We are officially welcoming all the new features to the island on Weds the 31st. Because of the changes, the island will be offline for a few hours today (12pm-3pm PST) while everything is being updated. Also, building is going to be turned off until Wednesday at noon. Don’t worry, we’ll be up and running again before you know it. Thank you for everyone for being patient and understanding – the new revamped island is going to rock!
When you visit the ATM, you’ll notice a change in your “virtual bank” account. All dollars have been exchanged for “shells” – the new Stagecoach Island currency. Don’t be alarmed if you now have fewer shells than dollars – everyone’s accounts have been updated to the new shell system. They’re worth much more anyhow. Ever wonder why the pumpkin was the biggest squash of Halloween? It’s like the big cheese of October. I mean, it’s a big orange squash that happens to taste really good in pies! Here’s a fun fact – the largest pumpkin pie that was ever baked happened in 2005 and was a whopping 2,020 pounds! You try eating that one for size, talk about overdose of pumpkin.
Did you also know that 36.1 million kids went trick or treating last year? Ouchies – that’s a lot of sweets don’t you think? I wonder how many will be going this year. Oh, and we can’t forget the houses that had really pretty carved pumpkins can we? It would be REALLY awesome if someone carved the largest pumpkin ever grown, which was 1,689 pounds – now THAT would be scary!
Guess that pumpkin has got to be heavy! Fat chance of me lifting that thing up. Ha!
It's the most exciting time of the year because the new fall island fashion has arrived! With more styles, colors and prints, all the islanders can now have the hottest stunner shades and jewelry.
The two level, luxury boutique houses elaborate ball gowns and designer shoes for gals and plenty of stylish polos and shoes for guys. There are even new up-do hairstyles for those fancy nights out on the town! Put your hands together as we bring you GCK — representing the new house of style!
With the new boutique coming to town, there’s going to be some shuffling around of the stores. Don’t be alarmed if you see “Trend Setters” setting trends in a new home across the street. The old store was completely remodeled to make room for our exquisite new boutique – GCK!

When I found out the SI$ was changing to shells, I thought, "Sweet! I like shells." I used to collect shells way back in the day until my brother found my shell collection and decided it would be funny to crush them with his hammer just to make me cry.
Funny, that is, until he found that I had dumped all the shell scrapple into the gas tank of his new motorbike.
But enough about scrapple. What I like best about the new SI economy is that it's different from the real world. I'm really interested in money (that's why they call me "gmoney") and how other economies function with their unique currency. For instance, in Europe there's the Euro 
, in Mexico they have the Peso , in Japan it's the Yen — and on Stagecoach Island, we rock the shell!
If you buy a hamburger at your local burger joint for a US dollar, that same hold-the-pickles hamburger would cost 3.06 Euro, 29 Pesos, and 280 Yen. Wow — I find that fascinating! And the extra cool thing about this is that tomorrow the hamburger could cost 30 Pesos...it's always changing!
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the shell economy and new changes coming to SI. Find me in-world and maybe I'll buy you a burger (no pickles, of course).

With all the new surprises dropping in world beginning this week, I caught an unexpected one of my own this weekend — I got a chance to visit Uncouth's hidden sky oasis! It's this tiny little pad way up in the clouds with mermaids, cool decorations and the moon as a back drop.
Sounds romantic huh? Not really when you see Andrew in the stall (see below) but other than that, it still rocks! Be sure to check out underneath the pad too, there's a huge chandelier on fire hanging down, and it adds just the right touch against the night sky.

As we prepare to add the new features to the island, we'll also be adjusting the economy and all dollars will be exchanged for "shells" — the new Stagecoach Island currency.

Thanks to all the users who submitted their awesome ideas for the name of the SI$! For all of you that missed the "What's New" post, the new island moolah name is shells!
Since shells are worth more than the island bucks we all had before, the economy looks a little different. Yeah, as scary as that may sound, it's not so bad. It's not like performing brain surgery or anything, but just gives the island currency extra value and makes it worth mega more.
That said, if you notice changes in your balances, don't be alarmed. Everyone in world will be experiencing the same thing! Don't pass out — and no, the aliens didn't come back and raid us — it just our way of getting the shells out of the sand and into the bank.
And very, very soon, you'll be signing up to get a job and starting to earn way more, so stack up your high value shells and start using them today!
Beginning early next week, you may notice a few new structures showing up in world. These boarded-up buildings house several of the new features coming to the island, so no peeking!
You'll know exactly what they are soon enough, but in the meantime I can tell you that what you'll find inside includes the island's newest fashion store, the eagerly anticipated career center, and the S.I.R.S. building.

I met up with Jesusfreak012 today and checked out the brand new tennis court that she and Adeline built! The best part about the place is that you can sport your tennis skills and enjoy the awesome view of the water. I can't even explain it — you just have to see for yourself. Now with RandyLH’s football field and the tennis court, the island is pumping it up with sports — let's get some teams together, yeah?
Other than that, Serenity and I also got to tour Jesusfreak012's new gigantic castle. And when I say gigantic, I mean that it's on the huge side! My favorite parts are the moat and gate, but you better be careful not to get lost in there!
OK, so what's the cool factor besides everything else I've said? The castle and tennis court are both my neighbors on Island Del Sol! I guess I won't be spending much time in my house!
Ever wonder about the weather on the island and wanted to see a weather report?
Well, we still can't — but Cbow found a really crazy surprise that someone (or something) mysteriously dropped off in his home over the weekend. Weird, huh?
So who's the secret Santa? No idea, but the awesome thing is that it's just stuck in his house by the treasure box. I walked in and didn't even notice till Cbow told me to turn around — I was like "Whoa, it's a weather map!" Kind of a shock, kind of confusing, but kind of intriguing! What do you think? Maybe the aliens have returned!
Nah, but that would sure explain a lot of things wouldn't it?

Put your hands together for Blog Action Day! It's a once a year thing where bloggers everywhere write about the same topic. This is the first year for me, so even though it may not sound like the most exciting title, Blog Action Day promotes an awesome cause: saving our environment!
What can we islanders do to make a difference? I know many of you have seen that tiny patch of "what-cha-ma-call-it" in the corner of Isla Del Sol, and since there hasn't been progress as a house, I'm planning to turn it into a community garden! What do you think? Share your ideas on how to make it purty like all the other ones on the island.

For those of you that have been keeping up with the news here, the House of Plays has a new home! Originally it was supposed to be housed in RandyLH's football field, but now, with the help of Freckles' building skills and RandyLH – the official House of Plays is born!
The theater is definitely sassy and stylish. Just check out the shots below! Not only are there rocks and trees as decoration giving it a whole natural look, but the glassy outside is awesome too! RandyLH stuck a glass dome on the roof and it just looks like the cherry on an ice cream cone. Yummy...
Oops...strayed from the topic! But yes, the theater is on its way! It's almost done, so go check it out and get ready to buy tickets to our first island show.

If you've been checking out the island lately, you may have noticed some new things. We've come a long way from when we first started building, and it couldn't have been possible without all the creativity from all of you! Now, you can make bots (avatars from the Builder's Paradise) that sit, stand, pose, dance, cook, or just hang out at your place. If you look around, you may catch some sitting mermaids and rotating mummies.
I also know that lots of things are still missing from the updates that were run last week (like Cbow's roof). Don't worry, they'll come back! I was scoping out the island when I bumped into Cbow. He took me to a pretty awesome and mysterious place that reminded me a lot of a labyrinth. Personally, I thought the place was a bit puzzling – I just don't really have words to describe it, except that it really just isn't what it seems.
Yes, it has finally happened...Cassie is stumped! The place is like a big, giant honeycomb made of rock - it shifts and changes with everything you do. I mean, I walked up to it and the rocks came rushing at me before they changed into a tunnel for me to walk through. Yep, pretty bizarre, but pretty amazing all the same. Check out the photos below to see for yourself. The place is a secret, but it's in Desert Hollow. See if you can find it and unlock its mystery.
Each neighborhood on the island has really taken on its own personality, and something is new and different everyday. You guys are creating so many mysteries for us to decipher and tricks for the eye and mind – what do you think will be next?

Best Island Memory:
I can remember my first journey around the island like it was yesterday. It was on June 21, 2007, I met so many friendly islanders that day who showed me all of the important locations. Very few of them still come online, but I've also made many new friends through the years of being a Stagecoach citizen.
