Construction Boom in Olympic Valley!

Have you seen all the new building that's happening in Olympic Valley? The neighborhood is just booming with new stuff!

With the help of PollyPocket, RandyLH has been working hard on his log cabin retreat. Inside you'll find all the cozy comforts you'd expect from a nice, warm cabin — and just yesterday he installed a hot tub! The neat thing about his place is the big barn with windmills and all he's built right next to his cabin! Who would've thought...check it out!

Annaliese, on the other hand, went with a more contemporary motif. Her place has all sorts of luxuries — huge bay windows, high ceilings and an indoor pool. Word has it that Matt built it and Angelfaith, Annaliese's roommate, just moved in. Hmm...do I see a house-warming party in the future? I sure hope so, because I'm always down for a kickin' party!

Annagirl's in the middle of her own construction, and from the looks of it, she may include her very own bobsled team! How awesome is that? I can't wait to see it when it's finished. Also, be sure to swing by and check out the new skating rink at 14S 22W, which I heard was built by Lostpoet. Don't be surprised if you find me there practicing my figure eights!

Last but not least, a small update from my cuz Cassie! She's having a great time and got to ride on the Shinkansen Click here to learn about third-party website links, or Japanese bullet train. Cassie also got to visit the biggest temple in Japan Click here to learn about third-party website links and Nijo-jo Click here to learn about third-party website links, otherwise known as Kyoto castle. If anyone has any messages for Cassie, let me know and I'll pass them along the next time I talk to her.

My Very Own Credit Crunch

I'm not sure if anyone has fallen into the credit card trap yet, but I sure did this past weekend! I was so excited after I passed my credit card test that I went on a $1000 shopping spree. After all, I gotta look good if I'm going to be filling in for my cuz Cassie while she's away on her vacay.

Anyways, before I even realized it, I was $1000 shells in the hole and couldn't afford the $5000 down payment Click here to learn about third-party website links for a mortgage to get a plot in Olympic Valley!

Luckily, a friendly islander took pity on me and gave me just enough so I could get back on track. And I learned the valuable lesson that you really should only buy what you can afford to pay off. I'm just relieved I didn't have to go through it in real life, or I'd be in some big money troubles. I guess looking good in really nice threads doesn't make the bills go away!

On another note, I heard back from Cassie and she's touring around Japan as we speak. A funny thing happened to her when she arrived in Japan: Her friends went to the wrong airport to pick her up and she was stranded for about 3 hours before she finally got picked up! But all is well now, and so far, Cassie has been to Osaka Click here to learn about third-party website links and Kyoto Click here to learn about third-party website links. Her next stop is anyone's guess. She says that she misses everyone and wishes we all could be there to enjoy the sites and sounds of Japan.

Well, more updates to come about Cassie's trip and life on the island. There have been some great things happening in Olympic Valley, so I know I'll have a ton to write about. Send me a telegram if you have news to share with the community.

See ya in world!

The New Kid On The Block

Since this is my first official post while my cousin Cassie is away on her vacation, I just wanted to thank all you islanders for such a warm welcome! I've met so many people this past week, and it's just great to see all the wonderful things that are happening in-world. It’s so cool to see that everyone is always willing to lend me a helping hand. After all, it's no secret I’m still a little bit wet behind the ears — if you know what I mean.

On another note, I've taken all my Stagecoach Island Virtual Banking tests and passed with flying colors! I went ahead and got myself a plot of land in Olympic Valley at 9N 65W. I started building, but don't laugh because it's not much of anything yet. Hopefully, with some help, I'll have a spectacular house with a view before long. So keep an eye out for an invite to my house warming when I'm done. It'll be like they say: mi casa, su casa!

If I haven't met you yet, come look for me in-world and say hi! Don't be shy because everyone knows I'm not!   See you soon!

In the mean time, KC (my fabulous, slick and fly sidekick) and my Cousin Vinny will be holding down the fort. So if you have technical questions, are experiencing problems, or are feeling a little blue and need a pep talk, telegram one of them — they're the temporary Cassie hotline.

Felie's Resort — Check It! Check It!

I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak at Felie's new resort in Isla Del Sol with a bunch of other islanders. It's not finished yet, but wow, talk about an architectural job — she's got creativity coming out of everywhere!

In case you guys forgot, Felie was also the winner of the best island home awhile back, so her resort is going to rock the islands! Telegram her to take a tour, and hopefully get a free night's stay today!

Building In A Winter Wonderland!

I'm super stoked because I just bought myself an awesome piece of snowy land by the ski village! Have you gotten one yet? After getting some ideas from Cbow and RandyLH, I'm thinking of creating a ski lodge with a homey hot cocoa and snowboard shop downstairs. What do you guys think? If you visit, I'll make the hot cocoa and serve it to you by the fire place. Now that's a nice touch of winter coziness!

It's been pretty exciting browsing Olympic Valley, and there are so many new cool places here already (check out the photos)! Great job you islanders!

While the snow prances over the island, I'm taking a short trip of my own to wintry Japan next week on the 26th. What does that have to do with Olympic Valley? Simple, the 1998 Olympic Winter Games were held in Nagano, Japan!

Of course, I'm just going there to explore and do the whole travel thingy, but I'll be reporting back everything I see and learn — so stay tuned!

In the mean time, I'll still be throwing snowballs and making snow angels. Come join me!

Cousin Vinny From The Block

Ever since the new features dropped in, my telegrams have spawned into a life form of their own, wrestling me with your awesome questions. While I'm making an appointment with the island doctor and recovering from the stampede, my super cool and totally outrageous Cousin Vinny (and I) will throw down some knowledge and try our best to answer your questions. He's my brother from another mother, and he's awesome!

If you haven't met him yet, his avatar name is CousinVinny. You may see him trailing me around the world, chit-chatting about this, talking about that, or just chill-laxing on the island.

P.S. On a separate note, if you're having a hard time with the new lessons, never fear! There's a help guide for each one of them that gives you a play-by-play on what to do and how to do it. If you haven't seen any of those pages, check them out!

Just For Fun

Wanted you guys to see my adorable friends that got punked by me!

Ok, ok, not punked, but I played a little prank on them and made them all squish in a well. I know they're thinking of ways to get me back, but lostpoet has done plenty — see for yourself! Check out our Island Pranks!

Sweet Alpine Living in New Olympic Valley

The new neighborhood is open to the public now! Soon, you'll be able to visit the fourth floor of the SI Real Estate building for more information on the land, like how to build or buy. You can even teleport from there to Olympic Valley to scope out more than 200 new plots for yourself.

Now that you have more choices, where do you want to live on the island? Sapphire Springs, Desert Hollow, Isla Del Sol — or the spiffy, brand new Olympic Valley?

Town Hall — The Community Speaks

So we held our first town hall event on Friday, and I've heard some great feedback and questions from everyone. I'll try to answer as many of them as I can over the course of the next couple of posts.

I know that some of you are having some bizarre things appear on your property, either with other islanders' names or just plain old not in the right place. Just to give you guys a heads up, we're all over it and solving all of these puzzles, so fear not! Your things will return to normal really soon.

While you're waiting for things to return to normal, be sure to visit our new neighborhood — Olympic Valley! If you haven't seen it already, you really should check it out. (Click Snowboard Mountain on the map and *poof* you're there). The buildings have all dropped in along with miles of purty white snow.

Come by and select a plot soon and don't forget to suggest a street name, today's the last day!

Enter The Video Contest — Check Out What I Did!

My friends are going to be famous (KC - *wink*)!

Well, not quite. But hey, it's a nice thought, right? I just made a video for this contest — quick take a look! Many of you saw me on the island, dancing and not talking to anyone in particular. Well, this is why. It actually wasn't that hard, I used iMovie Click here to learn about third-party website links to piece it together with Cousin Vinny and *poof* — it was done!

Here it is everyone: the premiere!

Olympic Valley — Tag Our Streets!

You might have guessed from the title of this post that yes, we want YOU to help us name the streets of Olympic Valley (22s, 61w)!

Be creative and use your imagination to its fullest — anything is possible here on Stagecoach Island. The Valley has an international flavor and features the chalets and parks of a typical ski village.

Here are a few ideas to get you thinking:

  • Swiss Alps Avenue

  • Mt. Fuji Highway

  • Mont Blanc Motorway

  • Long Luge Lane

  • Audubon Expressway

  • Aussie Avenue

What do you think the streets of Olympic Valley should be named? Share your suggestions with everyone!

Shhh*…We’re Getting A New Neighborhood

Yes we are! It's going to be called "Olympic Valley" — we figured it was in sync with the whole Olympics Click here to learn about third-party website links thing coming up.

Olympic Valley — A new wintry neighborhood! (click for larger image in a new window)

We're getting another floor in the SI Real Estate building, and you might notice some cool new streets popping up as the neighborhood gets built too. So don't worry if roads start paving themselves out of nowhere — that's the plan!

In the meantime, get a job and save some shells so you can get some posh plots before anyone else! The coordinates are 22S 61W, head on over and check it out!

Are You Featured In Our Lessons?

If you're taking the ATM virtual banking lessons, you might have noticed some snapshots of familiar places or things, like your home or even yourself. Yes? Then congrats — you made it to the final pages! When creating the new lessons, we went all around SI, searching for locations to use while shooting the final product. Let us know if you find yourself in it!

Also, a big thanks goes out to lostpoet, who helped create some of the content in the lesson. And an especially big hand to all of you who have braved the new features and lived to tell the tale!

Tell us, what do you think?

If You’ve Been Ejected, Read This!

Ok my awesome islanders, I got all the telegrams about how you guys are having problems with other people's plots coming into your own, items appearing on your land that don't belong to you, and islanders getting ejected for no apparent reason.

No, you are NOT crazy, don't worry! If you're getting ejected, and you know it wasn't something you said, take a couple of deep breaths and don't panic — it's the updating that's caused it. We're in the process of fixing everything while you read this.

Post any other problems you may be experiencing here too — share with me and the community so we can all work together to fix everything!

P.S. When you get back in world, check out the fossilized flower Lostpoet found. It's pretty cool!

Movers – Move Out!

I know many of you have noticed that our movers (all things that move, like cars, chairs, etc.) on the island are missing. No, the aliens didn't raid us again, though that would probably explain things better.

It's just the updating of the island to add the new features that's causing some hiccups.

So you know when you have terrible hiccups and they won't go away? This isn't like that — it'll be over before you know it. Besides, we could use a little exercise. So today on the island, walk, run, fly, and stand! Work those legs!

Then we can pass out on the sidewalk together.

*puts on her comfy kicks*

Missing cars (click for larger image in a new window) Missing jet skis (click for larger image in a new window)

Missing lounge chairs (click for larger image in a new window) Missing police cars (click for larger image in a new window)

Now that all the new features have landed on the island, you guys must have lots of thoughts, ideas, questions or comments!

So we're having an event where all of us can gather, catch up, and just share our thoughts and have our questions answered about all the new stuff. Come join us for the first ever town hall meeting, hosted by Cassie and KC! (It's kind of like a party!)

About me:

On quiet afternoons on the island, I find new islanders and show them around. Almost every Friday night some friends that I've had for years meet up with me, and we can chat for hours without getting bored. I enjoy "Simming" homes, so drop me a gram if you'd like any help on a build!

Best Island Memory:

I can remember my first journey around the island like it was yesterday. It was on June 21, 2007, I met so many friendly islanders that day who showed me all of the important locations. Very few of them still come online, but I've also made many new friends through the years of being a Stagecoach citizen.
