The question rages on! Ick — isn't it the biggest thing people talk about nowadays? And I thought the Super Bowl  was big news! (I'm rooting for the Patriots!)

I personally use both social networks, but I kind of (just a teeny weensy bit) like Facebook more. Why? There are just lots of hip and fun applications. And if you haven't seen already, sara242 has started a Stagecoach Island Facebook group! If you're on Facebook, do a search for “Stagecoach Island Players” or click here  to login and join the group!!

If you've spotted an odd-looking icon hovering above your screen that looks a little like a transparent bank card telling you to pay your taxes, then it's time to hurry on over to the SIRS building and take care of them! It's next door to the SI Real Estate building, right behind the shopping malls. Once you're inside, all you have to do is click on the green shells sign and voila — your taxes are paid!

If you don't pay them, your property may be frozen till you do. So don't delay!

 

"What's the dream bell" you say? That's exactly what I asked myself when Shag invited me to tour his Dream Bell Tower in Olympic Valley. It's a memorial dedicated to Martin Luther King , and it even has its own museum with historical exhibits! Want to learn more about Dr. King's story? Easy!

 

 

Shag also set up the Olympic Valley Public Library right across the street from the Dream Bell Tower. It's the perfect spot to meet up with friends, grab a snack from the cafe and read for hours. The two-story library has every genre, so swing by and support your local Olympic Valley Public library!

What does that mean, you say? Well, Shag built his very own teleport station that conveniently *poofs* you to where you need to be, when you need to be. So you no longer have to type in all those coordinates and fancy numbers in the teleport box above — you're one click away! It's super convenient!

Note: The cars are the teleport devices — don't be so gullible like me and search for some teleport button!

 

As you may have noticed, right in front of Shag's teleport station (stay tuned, more on this topic Friday) and behind theonetruegod's beautiful greenhouse garden — there's a HIDEOUS pileup! It's a major traffic roadblock and is interfering with some teleporting coordinates. So beware and be careful! I got stuck in a car and had to desperately join random people to get out.

You know, I feel sorry for the little red car squished beneath all the action — that's going to be some major car insurance claim! Ouch!

 

There's a GINORMOUS cathedral in Olympic Valley! Genie7 took me on a tour of it, and that thing is massive! From far away, it even looks like a happy meal box (don't worry, theonetruegod, I still think it looks awesome!). Look at the photos and decide for yourself. Inside, it's totally furnished, and the architecture looks and feels really European.

The best part is that it's located on one of the few Olympic Valley plots that have the snowing feature, which gives it a very wintry, almost magical touch — like Hogwarts Castle  from Harry Potter!

The weather can get a bit nippy out in Olympic Valley, so theonetruegod has made a cozy little greenhouse nook for everyone to warm up in! He says it's not quite done, but I think it looks snazzy already and reminds me of a little Japanese tea garden. You can read all about it in Shag's Olympic Valley Gazette . Sara242 is the host of our new Island talk show! She even built a studio and live stage in Olympic Valley for it! I took a tour of the new celeb grounds, and it's cute. It has seating for more than 20, prepared snacks and finger food, and of course, a heck of a stage with those talk show chairs that all the stars sit in.

Who's going to be her first guest? If you've got an idea of someone you think should interviewed, tell us here and nominate them.

Who knows? sara242 just might drop YOU a tele to appear as a guest on her show!

 

 

Yes — it has happened again. I was put into a cage by steven j as a prank. I thought I was being smart by standing on the sidewalk, but he still got me! Argh. Anyways, we had new people on the island so all of us went around visiting some of the tour spots, like the rock flower, lostpoet's Sky High, and even my house!

Other than the original island tour spots, there's quite a few new places coming around that are really worth checking out. One is theonetruegod's greenhouse and the other is sara242's new talk show studio. Keep an eye out for a post about them coming this week!

One place I can indulge you in right now is onebe's new party house. Why's it so special? Well, it's a party house in the sky that's completely windowless and not furnished yet. Here's a sneak peek at the place — wonder what it'll look like later on, eh?

 

 

The Island XYZ Games were yesterday and they were awesome! Lots of islanders showed up and the competed for the Island title. Can't say for sure who it goes to — I'd like to say Kory.17, but he also had the flying yellow bubble snow board (which goes ten times faster than anyone else). I think the islanders who competed will have to vote on that one! As for me, I kept sliding off the mountain (figures). But seriously, BIG props to all the people who came — everyone's a winner, yeah?

 

We had the after-party at theonetruegod's cozy snowboard lodge and cocoa lounge. There was a warm fire and really good company, and Restless Mind even brought his snowboard! Lots of islanders showed up, which was nice, and we all basically chilled and talked about food...we always end up talking about food!

 

My question still stands: the German Chocolate cake or the cheesecake? Only one!

It's a luscious pad created by Scorpio and Will36 in Isla Del Sol! It's got quite a view, and if you look at the pictures below, you can see it's decked out with some pretty neat home features — a pool table, a hot tub and a loft that's the bedroom!

If you want more info, telegram Scorpio and see if she'll cut you a deal. It won't be on the market for long!

 

 

This Thursday, come celebrate the start of a new year and the peak of winter at our Island XYZ Games, hosted by Cassie! It’s all going down at the snowboard mountain (40S 2E), so bring your snow gear and get ready to compete for the island title of the biggest, baddest boarder in town!

The after party will be held at theonetruegod’s snowboard lodge and hot cocoa lounge at 53S 44W. So if you don’t compete — at least come to meet!

It's the new year which means lots of island businesses popping up again! I just got a bunch of telegrams from islanders about their new businesses and I’m happy to give you a sneak peek. Sara242 is now the island talk show host (her virtual job this month) and she's building an awesome place to host her show! I'll tell you more once I get the inside scoop from her. The other one is Scorpio's new rental home - it's a one bedroom house with a living room and kitchen. If you want to rent it for only 300 shells a month - drop her a tele!

Other than that, check out the photos below - they’re of all the cool places I scoped out over the weekend. The ice skating rink belonging to Glittzzzy is really nice and futuristic - it glows all around it! And of course, my favorite has to be theonetruegod's snow board lounge and cocoa lounge - now THAT'S a spiffy place! Any other places you islanders think are worth mentioning, post them here and I'll check 'em out. If they’re REALLY good, I'll feature them on the blog! So, any hot spots?

Today I did something fun and exciting – I went building with Poemslove72 and we’ve decided to make her lot into a forest mansion with a zoo on the side! Sounds like a food dish huh? Can’t wait to see the results! Also, Flying Eagle sent in a comment to have us check out their pad and I did – it’s really cool, it’s got this southeastern hut look to it and has a really warm feeling in comparison to the snowy hills.

Anyhow, I was just gramming Darthvader about this: I was thinking of throwing a 2008 XYZ Games snow boarding contest/party, just to celebrate and see everyone again! I’m setting our date up for next week on Thursday, January 10th at 4pm PT – be there to board and compete for the Island Games title! It’ll be awesome – get ready to rock out to the new year of 2008 islanders!

 

 

The island is undergoing some maintenance which is causing some member accounts to receive odd messages telling them they owe mortgages as well as locking them out of their property. We are currently working on these issues so keep reading Cassie’s blog for updates!
