Tucked away in a little corner of Sapphire Springs is an adorable outdoor party hot spot. What's so special about it? Well, just take a look at the pictures below!

Check out the Outdoor Hot Spot! (click for larger image in a new window) One view of the gazebo... (click for larger image in a new window)
...and another (click for larger image in a new window)

Not only does the place have a gazebo that's open, spacious, and sprinkled with small design details, there's even an amphitheater where all your island guests and friends can sit and keep an eye on all the action! Oh, and I can't forget about the pool area — it's hidden behind a nest of palm trees and just the perfect place to dip your island toes in!

The amphitheater (click for larger image in a new window) The pool (click for larger image in a new window)

It's the spot to host ceremonies, parties and just about anything you islanders can think of.

So why am I talking about this sweet hideaway spot? Simple...it's for sale! If you're looking to buy land on the island, and you want to pick a spot that already has personality and flare, search no further! Just go take a look at 84s 177e and see for yourself!

It's currently up for grabs and the island clock's ticking...so you better hurry!

Make An Island Acrostic!

Sounds a bit like a lacrosse Click here to learn about third-party website links or something, but don't worry — it's not a sport. An acrostic Click here to learn about third-party website links is actually a really creative word puzzle thing-a-ma-jiggy. Never heard of them? Well, they're these really cool poems that you write attached to a word...wait, maybe that sounds confusing. Here's an example of an acrostic for the word "Island":

I'm standing here in Stagecoach Island,
Spending time with my islanders.
Living the life on Isla Del Sol,
And,
Nothing could ever be sweeter!
Da end.

Ok, so the last line wasn't super creative, but you get the idea right? All you have to do is basically create sentences, words, short phrase or even poems, as long as they start or end with the letters that combine to make a bigger word.

So, let's see who is the most creative here! Take one word that relates to financial stuff, math, numbers, science, or anything you think is island-ish — and make it into an acrostic! Come on, if I can make one, you islanders can make one better! Ready, get set....

Give the acrostic your best shot,
Oh, go and fill in that empty slot!

(And they don't have to rhyme)

Let's hear 'em!

Even The Tooth Fairy Is On A Budget!

I remember losing my baby teeth as a little kid and being super psyched each time. I would quickly stuff my little tooth under my pillow because I knew the Tooth Fairy would come around to collect it and drop off some loose change for it in return. Sometimes I got a dollar — sometimes I got two — but I always got something from the mysterious Tooth Fairy!

So why do I bring all this up? Well, I'm sure all of you islanders have been hearing about the big "R" word. It's...

*takes a deep breath*

...recession. Even the Tooth Fairy's been hit! If you lose a tooth now, you might be getting a quarter and not that dollar — but hey, better than nothing! I'm not going to go into crazy details about it, but it's something the island has been feeling too. Thus, the whole watch your island piggy bank and stuff!

If you guys wanna know more about how to survive the big "R" word, and come out like a smart-spending, budget recessionista, then stay tuned in for more tips!

P.S. I really did work hard for my Tooth Fairy redemptions! I remember once when my dad convinced me that the fastest way to lose a tooth was to tie a piece of string on it, and attach it to a door knob and then slam the door. Seriously, when he slammed it, I almost passed out. That was one HARD-EARNED dollar. Whew! ;)

National Women's History Month

You know, it's kind of strange how I've never said why the island named me Cassie...seems like I should have huh? Well, it's never too late, and this is just the right time to do it! Why? Simple, March is Women's History MonthClick here to learn about third-party website links So here's how my name, Cassie Hill, was born.

The real-life, historical Cassie was born in 1884 in Roseville, California. But why pick her name, right? Well, it's not just because she was one of the very first women to become a Wells Fargo agent. In fact, Cassie held a few jobs: Wells Fargo agent, railroad agent, telegrapher and even mom — she raised 5 children while working those jobs. Whew! Talk about juggling all the responsibilities of life! Quite the resumé, right? One of Wells Fargo's operation centers is even named after her.

Anyway, this is a month to honor all the women — past and present — who've had an impact in history. Just look at some of the ones we've highlighted in the past! Oh, and we can't forget the ones that are in our lives now: mothers, daughters, sisters and friends. They're all making history today. It's an awesome thing to think about isn't it?

Do you know of someone that should be mentioned this month? Share!

And me? Well, I'm just Cassie from the block, your fellow island skipper and go-to gal! Catch ya on the island....

Member Spotlight –- Nominate The Island Quester!

Congrats again to Restless Mind for taking the trophy for Best Island Saver! This month, we want to showcase an islander who demonstrates the skills of being a brilliant quest taker!

Do you know an islander who braves any quest? Did he or she find Black Bart's treasure before anyone else? If they didn't right away, did they keep trying and not give up till they had collected all the clues to crack the codes?

If you know any islander that sounds like this, nominate them today!

Don't forget, we won't be taking nominations via telegrams to Cassie anymore — votes must be posted here in order for them to be valid and counted!

So start thinking of who you will nominate! All of you have the chance of joining the island Hall of Fame and being known as the Adventurous Quest Seeker. Will the new island celebrity be you?

The Island Hits YouTube!

Thanks to the masterminds behind these brilliant videos — Kai and Shag — you can now catch a glimpse into the island through YouTube!

You must be wondering how I knew about it right? Well, I have to give it up to RandyLH for pointing it out to Genie7 and me over the weekend. Here are the two of them introducing the videos!

Don't miss it! (click for larger image in a new window)

They were great sports, letting me snap pics of them doing those intros. As for the vids themselves, Kai's is pretty sweet, and starts off with a really creative opening. I can't even do it justice by describing it — you'll have to watch it for the full effect. The whole thing is super fun to see, and captures some freakin' great island footage!

Shag also has two videos that are actually slideshows of some pretty memorable island momentsClick here to learn about third-party website links Be sure to stop by and take a look at all the creative juices these two have squeezed into it, and if you're really feeling adventurous, make one of your own and let us know! We'll post it here for everyone to see!

P.S. My peeps and I also made an island tribute Click here to learn about third-party website links awhile ago…if you haven't seen it, check it out!

Oink Goes The Piggy Bank!

If you all haven't heard, yes, we have another islander that will be joining the member spotlight hall of fame! Wondering who it is? It's...it's....

Restless Mind!

Congrats to him! He's famous for not breaking his piggy bank on the island — and that's not a bad thing to think about right now.

I've been doing some coupon clipping and stuff (even though I always end up losing them when I go check out) but the idea is to start watching our spending on and off the island.

Budgeting is kind of the way to go right now, and I know, I know - it's not easy to fight off those ‘for sale' signs and mark downs everywhere. Take some cool tips from our Student LoanDown blog and see what they're saying!

I mean, in the end, all you have to do is tighten up those purse strings — be like our spotlight member Restless Mind and save, save and save! Think twice about each purchase and don't depend on those plastic shiny cards to pay for them (aka. Credit cards), unless you can pay it off asap, if not, you'll start getting some icky debt, and not extra pocket change.

I'm heading off to check my virtual banking balance to make sure the new shirt at GCK is in my budget this month, you should too! And if you save enough $hells, you can even get an awesome real world T-shirt!

From all of us on the island...congratulations!

About me:

On quiet afternoons on the island, I find new islanders and show them around. Almost every Friday night some friends that I've had for years meet up with me, and we can chat for hours without getting bored. I enjoy "Simming" homes, so drop me a gram if you'd like any help on a build!

Best Island Memory:

I can remember my first journey around the island like it was yesterday. It was on June 21, 2007, I met so many friendly islanders that day who showed me all of the important locations. Very few of them still come online, but I've also made many new friends through the years of being a Stagecoach citizen.
