I mean, of course I know you're on the island, but where else have you been chilling lately? There's that whole Twitter craze tweeting everywhere, Facebook  (you can get into the island from our Facebook app!), MySpace  (add Cassie!), and IMVU. But there's so much other stuff!

So where have you been spending time lately, and what do you like about it? Knowing that sort of stuff is a great way for us to learn how to make the island a cooler place — not to mention stay hip!

Anyway, we're planning some things for the island and want to get all you islanders' ideas.

The island paparazzi have just caught sight of two homes from our newest contestant, Scorpio!

They're both located on the sunny side of the island, Isla Del Sol. If you haven't checked 'em out, go take a look! One is at 160S 110W and the other is at 141S 98W. But the pics just don't do them justice — the interiors are amazing and are definitely worth a peek!

 

If you have a home, and haven't submitted it — now is the time! Don't hesitate and send in your design today! Don't worry, this is a real contest and the winning home will be featured on this site! It'll be pretty cool and you'll have some awesome island bragging rights.

We'll probably post up a final tally once all the home submissions are in, but definitely give us a shout there's a pad you absolutely love and think should win!

So, I know we just celebrated Earth Hour, but this month is even more special!

Why? Well, it's "Keep America Beautiful Month!"  If you don't live in America, it's all good — just sharing and spreading the Green-love  to all the corners of earth!

Oh, and if you didn't know already, today is also Earth Day! 

Hmm...do you remember sitting in class in first and second grade, and you had to draw Earth with a bunch of people holding hands  around it? Yea, it's kind of like that, except now you're probably more artistic, and when you cut the Earth out, it's actually round! Hey, I'll admit it — I wasn't the most coordinated with my safety scissors. But the point was to show our support for the green and blue that makes up our amazing planet and (of course) only home.

Anyhow, come celebrate with us as we party for Green! Seriously, I started planting tomatoes and stuff in my Isla Del Sol home and will hopefully have my own veggie garden by summer! How are you celebrating and supporting Earth Day? Share with us!

With the spring house design contest going on, I've been flying around the island, checking out new builds and houses, and lookie what I found!

It's Kory.17's awesome house in Desert Hollow! It's got a cozy living room surrounded by glass windows — you can literally watch the sunset from it — and a spacious hang out spot in the back too! Just look at the photos below. You can catch up with friends, share some snacks, and even cook up an island storm (not literally) in the comfy kitchen.

The island birds are chirping, and the beaches are warming up — spring is finally here! And with new summery homes popping up in every nook and cranny of the island, it's hard to not notice that summer is right around the corner.

Well...almost. Right now I'm still sneezing my island self into shock from all the pollen and allergies, but hey — April showers spring May flowers!

While I fight my sniffles, let us know what you have in mind for a spring home design! Hopefully all of you islanders who celebrate Easter got a nice dose of the Easter Bunny while gobbling up all those Cadbury crème eggs , and colorful Peeps®  on Sunday. And if not, then I hope you at least got out and enjoyed some spring air, or got in a good game of island bingo!

 

I've been hippity-hopping on the island, poking around to see if there are any more hidden Easter eggs. Have you found any? I keep seeing one or two here and there, but definitely tell us if you've found one floating, laying, or hiding about! I don't know where they are, but let's see if your lucky island self can spot one!

Other than that, don't forget to pay your island taxes at SIRS (and in RL!). I forgot to, and finally flew my island self over and did it — you should too! If not, that house or those houses you own might get frozen, and trust me, that's just no fun.

Hustle, hustle!

It's stylish, it's big, and it snows! What is it? It's actually Ronika's winter pad at 12s 54w, sprawled out across four lots right across the street from the Olympic Valley town square. If you're passing by the neighborhood, it's hard to miss this home. Its cozy cabin layout reminds me a lot of Narnia , all surrounded by an oak fence.

 

There are three stylish parts to this home: two houses and an amazing gazebo. They look almost like snug bungalows nestled in the snow, but much bigger and roomier.

 

The outdoor cabana, on the other hand, is what really looks like something from Narnia...I'm serious! Well, minus the whole wardrobe and lamp post thing, of course. The whole gazebo has a carousel-like interior design, sprinkled with adorable settings! I mean, just take a look at the stylish glass tables and open dining — all complete with a warm and comfy fire place right in the center! It's perfect for a dinner out in the snow!

 

If you haven't taken a peek at this snow covered getaway, whisk yourself there and be sure to stay warm by dropping in the outdoor dining gazebo!

It's that time again...time to pay your island taxes!

If you own a home in any of the four neighborhoods, you should be getting that nice little tax icon on your upper left hand corner of the screen. Yep, that means that it's time to trek on over to the SIRS to pay them. If you're a newbie thinking about owning a home, this is a good time to learn about all those finicky taxes that come with the property, and how to budget around them.

For those that are also fretting about RL taxes, better do 'em soon — they're due on April 15th, so it's time to hustle and bustle! If you're curious and wonder why we offer up some change every paycheck, take a look at our short and sweet explanation!

And remember: If you don't pay your taxes, your island property might be frozen! Don't delay!

This month, you'll be able to style your island self with the newest accessory: headphones! They're here for a limited time only, and once April is over, you won't be able to purchase them anymore. If you want them, hurry up and pick some up at GCK!

So tell me, what did you say to James Hume yesterday? Because I tried everything and he didn't give a hoot about anything that came out of my island mouth! Hmm...I wonder why?

Simple...Happy April Fool's!!

You might be thinking that your island self was too slick to fall for it, or that you knew Cassie (yes, I'm talking in third person) was up to an April Fool's joke. But somewhere in your mind you probably thought, "Well gee, I wonder if this really works?" Then, at some point when no one was looking, you walked up to James Hume and blurted out some words only to be met with silence — oh, and his occasional boot brush.

Okay, so maybe not. But at the very least, I hope you islanders had fun trying to figure it out! After all, that's the whole point!

And hey, if you had some good pranks pulled on you this April Fool's, post 'em here!

Those of you who've braved the Quest for Black Bart's treasure know how awesome a person James Hume is. If you're a newbie and have absolutely no clue what I'm talking about (it's ok, most people don't get half of what I'm talking about) and want to learn more about the Quest, take a look here!

Anyhow, getting back to Hume: Have you ever wanted to bring him to your pad and show him off to your friends? Well, now you can! For a limited time only, you get to take James Hume to your house to hang out with your friends! Yup, that's right! All you have to do is go to where he lives, and be the first to whisper the "secret code." I can't tell you what that is, but it's something you should be able to figure out! If you get it right, he'll follow you all around the island!

So where's he live? On the island in a secret spot, and no, you don't have to take the Quest for this to work. But only 3 lucky islanders will be able to have Hume follow them, if you are one of the first 3 to do it, post your name here so everyone can be jealous!
