With the holidays just around the corner, we're seeing some pretty sweet homes pop up, filled with candy canes and pine trees — just take a look at the featured holiday house below! This one is filled with holiday goodness from the warm and cozy fireplace, to the Christmas lights all surrounding the house with their bright glow!

If you haven't checked it out yet, definitely go by and take a peek. You can almost smell the gingerbread and spices when you go in! Oh, not to mention it's built in our beautiful snowy neighborhood, making the home all the toastier!

 
 
 
 

My favorite is actually the "bay window seat" (the comfy bench with the hot chocolate and books you can snuggle up with)! It's just a perfect little spot! I mean, it's right next to the crackling fireplace, and you can even see out to the snowy mountains of the island — all while sipping on yummy cocoa! Mmm....

Have you heard the buzz about all of the new features and fun stuff coming your way? Well, get ready...it's finally happening! They're going to be dropping in world soon!

If you want a clue about these new awesome features, well, let's just say it's related to "campus life." That's all I'm saying for now — can any of you islanders guess what it is?

Let's see which smarty-pants gets it right!

Yes, I have been M.I.A. for a few days because I caught the icky flu bug! So if you're feeling something coming on, bundle up around the island! I've had the worst sniffles and cough — anyone else caught it?

It's getting colder, and while the scarves, ice skating, pumpkin spiced drinks and hot cocoa are plopping down everywhere, so are the germies! Beware! Since I got defeated by it, I thought I'd share some tips to stay "flu-free" as much as possible for the holiday season!

• Wash your hands!
• Sneeze into the crook of your elbow
• Use hand sanitizers
• Keep your hands away from face

I know, I know, these sound like simple easy things — but they make all the difference! Sneezing into the crook of your elbow makes it harder for germs on your hands to touch your face, and last thing you want to do is smudge your island self with germs!

So, just a few tips just in case! 'Cause you never know...they just might come in handy!

Thanks to all of the ideas you've been sending, we've decided to host a haunted island party! Be afraid!

Well okay, maybe not afraid...but definitely be ready to have fun!

We're going to start with a haunted house contest to kick it off! You have till next week to submit a spooky design for all your fellow islanders to vote on! We're going to take pics and let everyone see how Halloween-ish your design is! It just has to reflect the October Halloween theme — you know, pumpkins, mazes, candy corn land, trick-or-treat central, haunted house style decorations...all of it!

In the meantime, we're going to be throwing an island costume party right in the town center of our new neighborhood, Emerald Lagoon! There's a fun open space for hanging out, dancing, and for everyone to show off their costumes!

Can you believe it? It's already fall! It's like island time has tick-tocked super fast and summer is already gone! We've got a lot of new things coming, so stay tuned for those updates. There will be lots of new stuff, so don't hold your breath, it'll be here before you know it!

In the meantime, we're thinking about throwing an October bash to kick off the chilly weather! Got ideas? Let's hear them! Do you want to rock the island with a haunted house building contest? A pumpkin pie build-a-thon?

I know, you've probably noticed that the new October fashions aren't in the GCK boutique just yet — turns out the original batch of clothing we'd shipped over there was taken over by alien ships! Well okay, not really...but we've got the island designers working on that and they'll be in ASAP! Stay tuned to "What's New" to see when they drop in-world!

Also, don't forget it's island tax time again! So if you own a piece of land anywhere on the island (hopefully you've picked out a cool lot on Emerald Lagoon too!), don't wait and hurry to SIRS today to get all that stuff done! Once you do that little tiny icon on your upper left hand corner will finally go away! I'm just paying mine now — see you in the SIRS building!

So I'm cruising through the new neighborhood today and come across the awesome house that jesusfreak012 is building! What caught my island eye were the super bright green patches of grass and the super serene fountain in the back garden. Just take a look at the pics!

 
 

The grass completes the look of the house, and it's just nice to see a nice lawn in the middle of a neighborhood built on water. Can't wait to see the rest of the house once the inside is furnished! Stop by and take a peek for yourself!

Matt has done it again! This time even outdoing his previous hang out spot. He's been building for islanders and this is the latest finished masterpiece. And those who have checked out the spot know that he always manages to add his own personal touch to the place. Just check out the pictures below!

I mean, there's a vista hang out spot with the ocean view of Emerald Lagoon, a stage on the roof, and stairs that take you down to the pool into the house. Wow. I know where I'm going for the end of summer party! What else have you seen on the island? Let us know and we'll feature the new home or hip spot here!

If any of you have heard of the "Stratosphere Redux" done by Matt at 29S 70W, then you should know how massive the building is! It's also the perfect place to grab a table, sit down, and hang out with your fellow islanders.

Like I said, the place is HUGE, stacked full of tables, and of course, a VIP section in every corner for any islanders who want a personal nook of their own! The place spans over a street, making this mysterious tunnel like entrance. Just take a look for yourself!

 
 

So now that you know about this cool new spot, hurry up and check it out! And kudos to Matt for bringing the island yet another awesome build and hangout spot for peeps to kick back in! Woot!

With the new neighborhood inspiring islanders for all sorts of new builds, we welcome yet another new and fun design to the island! RichardT has designed the island's very first light house! It fits perfectly with Emerald Lagoon, and now all the island ships can find their way back to the neighborhood docks!

Just take a look at the pics! The lighthouse is super eye-catching with its red color and bright wood, and there are even tables and chairs for island tourists to lounge in. It's stylish and cozy!

So what are you waiting for? Teleport on over to the new neighborhood and take a peek at the new attraction at 80N 177 E! I mean, why not? Grab a table, kick back and relax to the sound of the ocean behind you and all around Emerald Lagoon. Sounds soothing, huh?
