A while back, we had Ed Terpening, head of our Social Media Department, tell you about Wells Fargo's social media journey, highlighting the five different blogs the company has launched in the past three years, as well as our YouTube channel.
Well just last week (Thursday, March 26, to be exact), we added Twitter to the list with the launch of @Ask-WellsFargo. ![]()
I've personally had the pleasure of managing the day-to-day tweeting on @Wachovia
(Wachovia's Twitter account) for the past 6 months. For a PR guy who spends most of his time working with company executives and media types, it's been a truly unique opportunity to interact directly with our customers. From the positive to the negative to the sarcastic, you'd never imagine how often people tweet about their bank. But when you think about the daily role our bank account plays in our lives, it's really only natural that customers mention those interactions when posting an update.
And with the launch of Wells Fargo's Twitter account, we can now offer customers from both companies an additional outlet for asking account-related questions — in 140 characters or less of course.
So, the next time you're on Twitter
, feel free to sign up to follow one or both of our accounts, and we'll return the favor. Tweet ya later, kids!
When are you going to support IE8??
Great idea! I can't wait to follow WF on Tweeter! Now maybe I will get some answers about that $6,000 check that Wells Fargo cashed 2 months ago and never put in my account...
when do wachovia check cards get replaced with wells fargo
I hope that WF will replace Wachovia's ATMs with envelope-free ATMs when the conversions happen. So much more convenient!
I am confused by your title. You asked: "Does this Stagecoach have Wi-fi?" and then you talk about twitter and do not address anything about Twitter.
Matt, when the integration is complete will historical transaction data (checks, statements, etc.) be lost? I had an experience with with a different financial institution and all records were lost after the integration.
@Josh - One of the goals of the integration is to prevent any negative impact to our current customers. I believe that you should feel confident that you're historic account data will remain accessible. In case you didn't know, Wachovia customers have access to the last seven years of account statements via their online banking.
I was reading the Wells Fargo Twitter site, and all the comments were about negative service and people on 'crusades' against the bank. The Wachovia Twitter doesn't contain stuff like that.
Is that what we have to look forward to as customers of Wells Fargo?
@Anonymous -- Glad to hear you're out on Twitter too! We are using the Wells Fargo's Twitter account (@Ask_WellsFargo) to test Twitter as a customer service channel and to better understand the best ways we can serve our customers in this community. Not to be missed, we've had many, many positive interactions so far too.
Will Wachovia's ATM machine go to free enevlopes and checks and cash will only be accepted?
When is IE8 support happening??
