Along with ATMs coast to coast, Wells Fargo also holds the record for the southernmost ATMs in the world! We're pretty sure we've got the second northernmost ATMs too.

Our ATMs at McMurdo Station were recently recognized as the southernmost ATMs in the world by Guinness Book of World RecordsClick here to learn about third-party website links In fact, they're the only ones on the entire continent of Antarctica — kind of cool to be able to say that.

Our Guinness world record-holding southernmost ATMs.And here's a new spin on recycling: The money in the ATM in Antarctica is apparently recycled within the continent, according to this ComputerWorld articleClick here to learn about third-party website links And the installation marked the first time Wells Fargo had used a satellite for ATM communications.

As for the ATMs in Barrow, they're just a little over 7 degrees shy of owning the title "northernmost ATMs in the world" — apparently there are some in Longyearbyen-Svalbard, Norway that just beat us out. Still, we're happy to be able to say: North, South, East or West...we've got you covered!

I like that Wells Fargo ATMs are somewhat more advanced, and you can deposit checks and cash without envelopes. I hope you upgrade all of the Wachovia ATMs with this feature.

The ATM's at McMurdo don't actually have depositories, although the one in Barrow does. You may be wondering, why would anyone need cash in Antarctica? Well, there is a small PX-sundry shop that takes cash as well as a bar that is apparently quite popular, especially in the Winter. Also, did you know that you can now drive from McMurdo all the way to the pole in a Sno-Cat via the South Pole Traverse?

But who restocks those ATMs? I can't imagine a Wells Fargo employee dropping by every so often with a sack of crisp bills!

Please Expand to the PRESTO NETWORK with Publix or MoneyPass Network to give us the customer more access to our money with no SURCHARGES.
