A Colorado Integration Announcement

We've been telling you for a while now that we were going to kick off our state-by-state banking location conversions in Colorado during the last quarter of 2009. We've also been saying that as soon as we had more specifics, we'd let you all know.

Well, as promised, we have some news!

Subject to regulatory approval, it's all scheduled to begin happening in November: Wachovia financial centers in Colorado will officially take on the Wells Fargo name, signs and systems. In total, we'll be adding 19 banking stores to the Wells Fargo network — all of which will offer our Envelope-freeSM ATMs, a first for Wells Fargo in Colorado! After the conversion's finished, there will be a total of 170 Wells Fargo banking stores across the state.

As a result of the integration, 14 Wachovia locations will combine with nearby Wells Fargo stores that are either right across the street or within a mile and a half.

Please remember: Until the Colorado integration is complete, continue banking where you do today! Once it's done, you'll be free to use any of the 170 Wells Fargo banking stores across the state.

Thanks as usual for your patience, and please keep your comments coming!

Cool, thanks! Good job on the update!

So, is it safe to assume that Wells Fargo has determined its new products selection for the combined company? At least by the time the Colorado branches are converted?

Any idea when the merger in Texas will start taking place? You've got so many Wells Fargo branches over Wachovia here in Texas, it would seem to be easier to merge them all into Wells Fargo Texas branches and account products and only worry about locations where Wachovia exists alone without Wells Fargo's presence.

Where can we find a list of locations that are closing in colorado? I can find Wachoiva branches closing but no Wells Fargo sites.

As a Colorado account holder can I use Wachovias on East Coast fully at that time?

@ Jake Smith - A good question! Here's a link to the complete list of those 14 consolidating Wachovia locations, along with the closest Wells Fargo stores: http://blog.wellsfargo.com/wachovia/documents/070109%20ColoradoConsolidatingStores.pdf

Hope that helps, and thanks for your comment!

Any idea on the timeline of when other states are going to be integrated? Mainly out on the east coast?

Thanks,

No, sorry, we don't have dates for other states yet. We'll share them on this blog when we do. Appreciate your business and patience as we move forward!

Ann,
Do you know what will happen to the vacated branch offices? Do you know anyone I could speak with in California, Orange County about closures in this area? We Manage two Wachovia branches that will most likely be vacated and I would like to have some leed time to review our options.

How are you going to handle the "foreign account" problem, i.e., people who opened Wachovia accounts in Colorado but no longer bank there (and vice versa)? Also, as a Wachovia customer, after the "integration" will I no longer be able to bank at any branches while visiting Colorado?

So you set a date. That's all and good, but where's the information on products and services? It would seem that if you've set a date that this information is already available. When exactly is WF going to share said information? When Wachovia worked through integrations, they always did it so methodically and professionally, with clear, timely communications in various forms. Why isn't WF using that expertise and going about this integration the Wachovia way (which is far much better for customers)? Obviously WF isn't interested in satisfying customers.

Do you know if we are keeping the same debit card numbers with the Wells Fargo logo on them or are they going to be completely new generated debit cards?

When will Wachovia branches in Memphis, TN, be converted to Wells Fargo? Can you publish a state-by-state schedule?

Leah, we are still working through the details of the conversion schedule and will let you know as soon as we have additional information.

Joey, sorry for the delay in responding. I routed your question to a few folks, and the basic response is the final decision on debit card numbers has not been made. As you know, we're trying to minimize any inconvenience to our customers, so should there be any changes, we'll let you know.

I live in Florida. When will Wachovia conversion to Wells Fargo begin for this state? I heard some news Florida will be one of the last states for the conversion because Wachovia bank has a huge presence there.

The Biggest Market should have gone first FLORIDA! Wells Fargo doesn't love the sunshine state. We are BIGGEST Wachovia is #1 in Market Deposits in South Florida

I also live & do business in south Florida. Is there an approximate date range that we can expect the Florida branches to convert to Wells Fargo?

I live in PA. Is there an approximate date range that we can expect the PA branches to convert to Wells Fargo?
