Way2Save Is Staying

Since practically day one of our blog, we've been hearing from you about Way2Save.

Folks like Natalie (01/05/09) wrote simply:

Please don't get rid of Way2Save!

And then there's this comment from J.A. Santes (01/10/09):

Way2Save: As a Wells Fargo checking and savings account holder, I would LOVE to see this program being not only continued, but also expanded nationwide through Wells Fargo.

Well, we're pleased to announce to you all that yes, indeed, we are keeping Way2Save. We're committed to helping our customers with their savings goals, and excited to be able to rollout Way2Save across the country.

We’re still working on the specifics and plan to share our progress with you on this blog as we iron out the details, so please check back in with us.

We look forward to your feedback!

This is great news! Thank you Wells Fargo.
Please keep Wachovia Possibilities Rewards, and we'll be all set!

Wells Fargo is doing a good job in getting the information out to Wachovia customers concerning the conversion. Unfortunately my Wachovia branch is being intergrated by PremierWest Bank, not Wells Fargo. Where can I go or who can I contact to get the latest information. Repeated trips to PremierWest with inquiry requests is not very informative.

I love the program. When can I go into Wells Fargo and use their bank though?

thank you for listening to customers or ideas and solutions to make us happy comes first... The banking come cherish is what make us coming back to wachovia

"Way2Go" by keeping and building upon "Way2Save."

Instead of $1 for each transfer to Way2Save, can we change it to $2 or even more? It 'll speed up savings!

Instead having a fixed $1 transfered to Way2Save account for each transaction, how about being flexible on the amount from $1 to maxiumim of $5 to transfer to Way2Save? It'll speed up the savings.

Weren't there 8 comments in regarding this topic yesterday?

Thank you very much for listening! That does mean a lot.

Whenever Way2Save becomes available through Wells Fargo, I will sign up for it!

What happened to all the other comments that were on this topic?

You may have noticed that some comments that were live on the blog yesterday are gone today. They're coming back!

We upgraded our blog servers last night and in the transition, we knew we'd need to sync-up comments this morning. We're working on that now. You will notice the date/time of comments that were lost will have today's date/time, there's no way for us to go back and change that (and we don't edit comments anyway).

Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for your feedback!

As another bank used to say...Woo-Hoo!

Please keep the Crown Banking packages! These legacy Wachovia (prior to 2001 merger w/ First Union) products really are customer-driven. I love all the benefits, including Wachovia Possibilties Rewards, and my Crown checks. This would be a nice way for WF to pay tribute to legacy Wachovia and its customers.

Its almost hard to believe the bank thats buying another one is actually keeping something from them (besides the customers) rather than terminate everything like chase is doing with wamu accounts. I guess thats why it is taking so long. But, still I would assume that way2save is a profitable product otherwise they wouldnt be keeping it in the new system.

As a Wachovia employee, I am delighted to hear about the Way2Save account. I also hope they will keep the Free Checking account (since Wells does not offer a free account unless you have a direct deposit) and the accounts for customers over age 50 (again, nothing like them from WF). These accounts are such good selling tools!

Way2Save is awesome! It's an easy, affordable way to build a reserve fund. And, in this economy, it sure beats saving change [BofA]!

Will Wells Fargo start introducing their products into the Wachovia Banks before the merger is complete (ie, Advantage Checking, etc) or will Wells Fargo wait until everything is finalized and its all Wells Fargo? I am happy to keep the Way2Save Savings program, but I am interested in the Wells Fargo Advantage Checking Account. Please reply! Thanks!

Thanks for the update on Way2Save! Now... If Wells Fargo can bring in Wachovia's approach to Online Bill Pay and make it 100% FREE with no attached strings (such as a balance requirement), that would be great, too! And please keep Wachovia's 100% FREE checking account (with FREE online Bill Pay, of course). There are no balance requirements or direct deposit requirements. Thank you!

Will Wells Fargo keep Wachovia's credit card rewards program? I really don't like that Wells Fargo charges $19 per year to have a rewards program. I like that I can get Wachovia giftcards with my rewards points. Also, the points don't expire for 5 years and you can earn more than 1 point per $1 spent.

This is great news. I don't carry cash, and only use my debit card. Way2Save has been a great way to save money on the side. Thanks for keeping it Wells Fargo! I hope you'll keep some of the benefits of Crown banking like a free safe deposit box.

Way To Save interest stinks! $1. on $20. Why bother!! What am I letting you use my money for????

The old Wachovia (before First Union) used to let you take out money from ATMs in $5 increments. It was so convenient, and Wachovia had a cult-following of sorts because they were the only bank that did it. I wish Wells Fargo would consider bringing it back.

One change I wish Wells Fargo would make to Way2Save is having it integrated into an existing savings account (similar to Keep the Change), instead of having to be a separate account. Thanks for keeping Way2Save!

Once again, the media beats Wells Fargo's own blog. A merger update for everyone, courtesy of the Charlotte Observer:

*Wells Fargo has closed some former Wachovia mortgage offices and put the Wells Fargo Home Mortgage name on those that remain.

*Wells Fargo Insurance Services will reveal its name July 1.

*The Wachovia Securities brand used for capital markets businesses changes to Wells Fargo Securities on July 3.

*Wells has said the surviving name for its mutual funds will be Wells Fargo Advantage Funds, replacing the Evergreen Investments moniker. A Wells spokeswoman noted all changes must be approved by the mutual fund trustees.

Having a $100 auto transfer to my Way2Save account, has been the only way to start saving. Thanks for keeping it and hopefully enhancing it.

I was looking at the Wells Fargo credit card page, and it looks like the $19 annual fee to have rewards has been removed! This is great news!

Well as a Wells Fargo customer I am greatly looking forward to this Way2Save account. Wish it was available now.

sounds like a good thing to keep around if everyone loves it that much. as a wells fargo team memeber i am always up for new products MODERATOR'S NOTE: The views expressed herein are those of the blogger alone and do not constitute an official position taken by Wells Fargo or Wachovia. Will Free checking stay?

@ Anonymous, in response to your question on June 8, we are currently evaluating all of our product offerings, and will let you know as soon as those decisions are made. Thanks for asking.

Is it just me or are others confused by the names/dates of postings? That information is now listed at the top of the post, instead of the bottom, which is how it was before the server change.

I know it's nothing significant, but I think having the poster's name/date info at the bottom right after the post makes more logical sense for those who were accustomed to it. Now I can see myself potentially typing off a reply to the wrong person! No big deal, though.

I love Way2Save! Thanks for keeping it!

W2S is a terrific Wachovia product and I'm glad WF will continue the program. I would ask WF to review current access and change policies associated with W2S accounts. One "rule" that needs changing is the rule that prohibits customers from starting or changing transfers into a W2S accounts on line. This is a rule I've disliked from the beginning.

What about my CD's at both banks. Will the guaranteed amount apply only to 1 bank? I want my CD's fully safe.

Having college kids using debit cards requires some discipline. The great thing about Way2save is that the savings in this account can act as a buffer in cases of overdraft. Very useful....and eliminates hefty overdraft fees. Thank you for keeping it!

Thank you Wells Fargo for sharing such nice news. I like Way2save. It is doing great job. I am agree with it. Well I like this site and will visit this site in future.

so why is Wells fargo not freezing there interest rates and increeaing by 3% What about the consumer, stop the cotten candy and lets talk about the poeple Call your congress and senate. PLEASE
