About the Wells Fargo - Wachovia Blog
Welcome! Now that Wachovia is part of Wells Fargo, we know there are going to be a few changes coming, not to mention a lot of information. We understand you are going to have questions and comments about what's going on. That's why we created this blog – for you, our customers.
Both our companies take pride in the fact that we have focused – and continue to focus – on you, our customers. We believe in doing what's right for you because, quite frankly, without you, we wouldn't be here. That's why we're so excited about the Wells Fargo-Wachovia Blog! We are confident it will prove to be a great educational and informational resource, as well as a place where you can ask questions, join the conversation, and just get to know us a little better. We're looking forward to getting to know you better as well.
A couple more things...
We've been blogging for a few years now and have learned a lot along the way. That's why, for the benefit of the community who will be reading and participating here, we'd like to remind you to please:
- Stay on-topic: Only comments that are related to the subject of the blog entry will be posted.
- Be respectful: It's okay if you disagree with a post, but please, no personal attacks or offensive language.
- Maintain your privacy and confidentiality: Please do not provide any of your specific account details or other personal information. If you have immediate service needs, please contact your bank representative or Customer Service.
- Wells Fargo and Wachovia Employees: In the interest of full disclosure, if you are a current employee of or are associated with either Wells Fargo or Wachovia, please make note of your affiliation.
We will try to respond whenever possible. However, we are in a regulated industry, which means we have legal and regulatory restrictions. We are very respectful of our customers privacy (see specifics below) and will do everything we can to protect it. So we may not respond every time, but we will do the best we can.
Now for some of the detailed limitations. Regulations will not allow us to obtain some information – that's why those restrictions preventing you from submitting your full name in blog comments are there. As well, under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), you must be 13 years of age or older to provide us any of your personal information, including your email address. (For more information about COPPA, visit the Federal Trade Commission's website
.)
Additionally, many employees from Wells Fargo and Wachovia will be posting their comments on this site. It's important to note that neither Wells Fargo nor Wachovia endorses any comments made by its employees on this blog, unless they are an authorized representative of either bank. Neither Wells Fargo nor Wachovia validates assertions or forward-looking statements in the comments. All statements and viewpoints expressed in the comments are strictly those of the commenter alone, and do not constitute an official position of Wells Fargo or Wachovia unless they are posted by the original author (who is an authorized representative of the bank) or by a subject matter expert responding on behalf of that authorized representative. Please read our Comment Guidelines for more information.
Lastly, we cannot capture your blog's URL in our comments due to concerns about "phishing" — a method of identity theft in which unsuspecting Internet users are lured to a fake website.
We know these regulations are there for good reason: to protect you, our consumers, from fraud, and to protect your privacy. So thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation!

Matt Wadley
Matt is a Communications Manager for Wachovia. After graduating from James Madison University
earlier this decade, he was struck with a confounding quandary: “What exactly do English majors do for a living?!?” After working his way down a list of occupations that has included sports reporter, obituary editor and teacher, he discovered the most obvious answer: “They work at a bank!” He's now been at Wachovia for four years, developing the communications strategies for mobile banking, online security and the 2009 Wachovia Championship
. He is also the voice of Wachovia on Twitter.com
. When released from his cubicle, Matt enjoys a dysfunctional love/hate relationship with the New York Mets
, fantasy sports, movies, music and traveling with his wife.
